Besides the EPP members, other participants are: Croatian prime-minister Andrej Plenković, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Bulgarian prime-minister Boyko Borisov, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, Bavarian prime-minister Markus Söder. The prime-minister Plenković participated in the panel “Europe – a Success Story“, whereas the Chancellor Merkel participated in the panel about the key challenges which Europe may expect in the coming years.

The EPP deputies will also discuss financing priorities within the next multi-year financial frame and the EPP position documents on security issue, creation of new jobs, promotion and maintenance of European values and European way of life.

“We will discuss the EPP priorities related to the measures of additional enhancing of our citizens’ security. Considering higher migrants’ pressures, terroristic threats and new technologies, which endanger the security of both our citizens and our borders, a more intensive engagement of the EU member-countries is needed. The EU member-countries must implement the existing measures and instruments, so that we all may build a safer EU with the joint forces. However, the EU may not be safe for its citizens unless its member-countries take a firmer approach to the security issue.” – said MEP Zovko.
