Zovko elected as Vice Chair of the Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo

Brussels, 27 May 2021

Zeljana Zovko has been elected as the Vice Chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. With this appointment, the delegation has been fully constituted, after a delay of almost two years.

After her election, Zovko thanked her colleagues for the support and reacted “It is a great honour to have been elected as Vice Chair to this delegation. I remain committed to the engagement of the European Parliament in the relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo and look forward to work with our partners in these countries on their path towards European accession.”

Zovko also reminded that with the full constitution of the delegation, the European Parliament is finally ready to participate in the EU-Bosnia & Herzegovina Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC), providing parliamentary oversight of the implementation of the EU-BiH Stabilisation and Association Agreement paving the way towards European integration. Although the SAPC normally meets twice a year, the last meeting took place in 2015. After the dysfunctionality due to the lack of an established delegation at the side of Bosnia and Herzegovina, now also the European Parliament is fully prepared to resume the work.
