Croatian MEPs and members of the Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo (DSEE) expressed regret about a recent statement by the President of the Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo (DSEE) Romeo Franz after his meeting with Mr Šefik Džaferović, Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In response to the statement, they sent a letter of complaint to European Parliament President David Sassoli. You can find the letter below:
Dear President Sassoli,
We strongly regret the recent statement of MEP Romeo Franz, Chair of the Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo (DSEE) after his meeting with Mr Šefik Džaferović, Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in particular the part in which he states that it is obvious that certain political forces in EU Member State Croatia have a potential destabilising agenda in relation to Bosnia and Herzegovina. We underline that the statement has been drafted without the consultation of the chairing bureau or the rest of the delegation, thus it does not represent the shared position of all its members. It is unacceptable that MEP Franz uses his position as Chair of the parliamentary delegation to publish this language, the accusations and personal opinions in official publications. We call for the amendment of the statement and for the Chair to apologise for his unfounded allegations.
