Željana Zovko is the most influential Croatian Member of the European Parliament according to the MEP Influence Index 2022 of EU Matrix. The research platform lists the top 100 members who are key in shaping European policies. The most influential MEP overall is Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament.
To measure the impact of MEPs on the parliamentary work, EU Matrix developed an algorithm based on the MEPs position in the Parliament, their role in legislative files, the overall performance during the votes and the network that they built during their career in the European Parliament.
Zovko is the vice chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee and vice-coordinator for EPP on foreign affairs. She is also the vice chair of the delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo and is member of the Presidency of the EPP Group in the European Parliament. During this mandate Zovko worked as rapporteur on the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance and has been the shadow rapporteur on several reports such as the New European Bauhaus, Europe’s Media in the digital decade and EU-African security cooperation in the Sahel region, West Africa and the Horn of Africa.
