Brussels, 1 February 2017 – The Member of the European Parliament Željana Zovko and Nikola Lovrinović, a deputy in the BiH House of Representatives and the Chairman of the Joint Committee for European Integration of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly met yesterday to discuss the inter-parliamentary conference “Local and regional governments in the region of expansion and the regional policy of the European Union”, which was organized in the European Parliament by the Pre-accession Actions Unit, Foreign Affairs Committee, Regional Development Committee and Committee of Regions (COR).
Zovko and Lovrinović discussed the so-far progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina on its accession path to the EU and internal political events in BiH, with a special focus on the actual 2016 Commission Report on Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Resolution, the voting on which is scheduled for this month on a plenary session in Strasbourg.
The MEP Zovko concluded the meeting stressing the importance and a huge responsibility of the parliamentary members in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly members of the Joint Committee for European Integration of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
