The members of the Committee of Foreign Affairs in the European Parliament have elected Željana Zovko as Vice-Chair. With this election, the committee has been fully constituted. Together with the Chair and the other Vice-Chairs, Zovko will be part of bureau of the committee and will follow the organisation of the meetings closely.
Zovko said it is a great honour and privilege for herself and for the Croatian delegation to obtain this position. As the only female vice-chair in the Committee of Foreign Affairs, Zovko aims to promote gender equality in the field of the EU’s foreign and security policy.
Before her election as Vice-Chair, Zovko already participated in the Committee of Foreign Affairs during both her previous as well as her current mandate. Zovko also fulfils the role as vice-coordinator for foreign affairs within the European People’s Party.
