During her intervention on the reports of common foreign and security policy and common security and defence policy, Member of the European Parliament Željana Zovko called on High Representative Josep Borrell to bring back the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement to its origins.
Zovko welcomed the recent actions of Borrell when he phoned the three leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, Bakir Izetbegović and Dragan Čović in an attempt to find solutions for the continued political and institutional crises in the Western Balkan country.
“Croatia has a crucial role as a frontier country. This is our peace and stability issue,” Zovko stated and added “In order to make things straight and to have an equidistant approach to this issue you, Mr High Representative, have to finally bring back Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement to its origins. The three peoples have to have a stake in this state.”
Zovko underlined the urgency of the matter. “While we are resolving the crisis in Ukraine, another crisis is just going to happen if you do not take your responsibility,” she concluded.
