From 3 to 5 December 2024, Member of the European Parliament and member of the Delegation for relations with the US Željana Zovko will go to Washington for the 2024 Forum of International Democracy Union Forum (IDU), the global alliance of center-right parties.
This forum will bring together legislators, party and thought leaders to discuss increasingly complex global challenges and share best practices.
The IDU Forum will also be the opportunity to discuss the future of transatlantic relations, especially regarding technology, defence and energy policies but also trade relations which are crucial at this moment.
Let us remind you that in the last parliamentary term, Zovko was the permanent rapporteur of the EPP for the report on EU-US relations. As EPP Vice President responsible for EPP diplomacy, she is in charge of reaching out to our American partners and is actively contributing to the strengthening of transatlantic cooperation, especially through the Transatlantic Dialogue.
Zovko is also permanent rapporteur for the EPP in the Committee for International Trade for the monitoring group of trade relations with the US.
As every year, the IDU Forum will enable strengthening ties with our like-minded partners from all over the world to promote freedom and democracy.
