Brussels, 29 August 2017 – Member of the European Parliament Željana Zovko participated today in the Annual Conference of the European Union Ambassadors and Mmembers of the European Parliament. The Conference was opened by the EP President Antonio Tajani. The participants had an opportunity to exchange opinions and experience with the EU ambassadors on 4 parallel panels on different topics. MEP Zovko participated in the panel titled “EU as the Global Actor in Crisis Prevention and Management“, where the main topics were external factors which had a direct impact on the EU, modes, tools and instruments of crisis prevention and management, such as financial assistance to development, mission and operations of common security and defense policies through humanitarian, trade policy and activities of mediation and facilitation of dialogue.
Other panels covered topics of the renewed incentive for the EU-African Partnership, new generation of trade agreements and inclusion of human rights into Asia-Pacific area and new threats: strengthening resilience of Europe to cyber-attacks and information warfare.
